The Costa del Sol
The Costa del Sol is internationally renowned as a tourist destination for its climate offering more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Along with its envious coastline and its vast range of accommodation, no matter where you are located along the Costa del Sol, you are never too far away from tourist attractions or things to do and see. Access to the coast is easy by air as it is serviced by many low cost carriers and national airlines (flights into Malaga, Gibraltar, Granada and Jerez de la Frontera). General advice and information about travelling in Spain
This is some good advice about spending time in Spain. It covers everything briefly from whether you can drink the water, to making a telephone call. Well worth a read if you are unsure.This guide was written by David Atkins - the author of the popular free Holiday Guide paper which can be found along the Costa del Sol.
El Chorro and Antequerra
Antequerra is about a ½ hour drive inland from Malaga. It is a pretty white village and has a tourist walk available from the tourist office. El Chorro is the mouth of one of the huge lakes where there is a train station, a hydroelectric power station and many historic walks - very pretty. Going on from here, you can drive around the huge lakes and stop to eat at one of the picturesque restaurants or maybe go swimming. Click here to learn more about trips available.
Estepona
Estepona is a very pretty town. It’s historic background leaves many buildings from Muslim to Roman and the Phoenician influence. The beaches are excellent and there are many bars and excellent restaurants scattered around. Take time to try traditional tapas here too.
Casares
Casares is a traditional small white village inland from Estepona. This makes for a good walk through the town to the old monastery. There are a few restaurants here, some with wonderful mountain views. There are also some circular walks in the country clearly marked from this point.
Fuengirola
Fuengirola, much like the nearby resort of Torremolinos, was one of the original towns along the coast and existed well before tourism became popular. Evidence of this still exists in the town centre with its narrow streets and picturesque church.
Gibraltar
There are lots of things to do in Gibraltar. One of the main attraction is a trip up the rock to visit the apes. You can also visit St Michael’s Cave, walk through the siege tunnels and visit the Gibraltar Experience. You can also take a trip around the rock, go shopping (duty free) or even visit the Botanic Gardens.
Granada and the Alhambra Palace
Granada is a 2-hour drive from Málaga. It is a very pretty city with the Alhambra Palace as its main tourist attraction. This is a Moorish Castle and Palace set in beautiful gardens. (The Alhambra is the number one tourist attraction in Spain and number four in the world).

Granada has many ski slopes available during the winter months. You really can go skiing in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon!!
Malaga
Malaga is a very old and interesting city and easy to access on foot. Be sure to visit the covered market, the cathedral, the Alcazabar (Moorish Palace and Castle) and if you have time the Picasso museum.
Marbella – the old town
Marbella now spreads out to cover a vast area. The original old town is well worth a visit as it is very picturesque. The beach is also excellent and the promenade a lovely walk.
Mijas
Mijas is a pretty white village located above Fuengirola. There are many shops selling local art and pottery, and splendid restaurants with stunning views across the coast and out to sea. The bullring and its museum is an insight into the Spanish tradition. Also restful gardens close by. You can even hire a donkey!
Nerja
Nerja is a perfect Mediterranean white village. It is most famous for its stunning caves.
Morocco and Marakesh
This is a fantastic trip to take whilst staying with us as it is only 35 minutes on the boat from Tarifa and the diverse culture is so different to Spain. Take one of our guided tours and you will have a great time.
Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is the place for the rich and famous to moor their yachts. Here there are many restaurants around the port and lots of very busy bars and nightclubs, which are open until late. Shopping is great here whether you are looking for designer boutiques or large department stores.
Ronda
Ronda is an ancient town, which still has much of its fortifications. It is famous for its huge bridge, which crosses a deep gorge. There are spectacular views and a great shopping area to wander about. A Great day out.
Seville
Seville is the capital of Andalusia. Flamenco dancing originated from here. Seville is thought of as the most Spanish city in Spain. It is full of beautiful buildings and gardens and the population (800,000) is thought of as very spiritual, sensual and romantic people. Christopher Columbus is buried here. It is a very pretty and ancient city, which is easily seen on one of the tour buses that take you around the town. Make a point of seeing the Cathedral and also the Royal Palace.
Torremolinos
One can really consider Torremolinos to be three resorts in one. Firstly there is the main town in the middle, secondly, on the Málaga side are the modern Bajondillo and Playamar areas and thirdly, on the other side is the older area of La Carihuela.
